Baggrund om disse cykler: The first bicycles in the Swedish army were privately owned or purchased for testing purposes. The cycling infantry was first introduced in 1901, when the Gotland Infantry Regiment (I 27) in Visby expanded with cavalry units. In 1942, there were six cycling regiments in the Swedish army, which operated mainly m / 30s and m / 42s. However, there were also examples of unmarked tandem bicycles for use by field radio operators and specially equipped pairs of bicycles designed to mount stretchers between the guide bar and the rear steering tube. After World War II, in 1947, it was decided to eliminate cycling regiments. They were gradually eliminated from the army in the years 1948 to 1952. After this decision, the role of the bike moved from combat to more useful, special bicycle transport groups were formed. However, battalions of bicycle rifles (Swedish: cykelskyttebataljon) continued to exist until the end of the 1980s.
